WrestleFest DXB, Dubai’s homegrown wrestling promotion, is introducing a vibrant slice of Mexican culture to the UAE with the launch of Lucha Libre Fest 2024.

This multi-day festival, running from November 2 to November 9, will celebrate the rich heritage of Mexico, featuring cultural showcases, culinary experiences, and the high-energy spectacle of Lucha Libre wrestling.

The festival was officially announced on October 15, 2024, in a special event hosted in both Mexico City and the Mexican Embassy in the UAE. H.E. Luis Alfonso de Alba, Mexico’s Ambassador to the UAE, and Mohammad Al Shehhi, one of WrestleFest DXB’s founding members, were key figures in the launch. This collaboration aims to strengthen cultural ties between the UAE and Mexico, offering residents and visitors in Dubai an opportunity to experience the excitement and tradition of Mexican wrestling.

Lucha Libre, known for its colorful masks and acrobatic performances, will be at the heart of the festival. Mariana Montiel, a UAE resident and member of the Mexican community, spearheaded the concept with WrestleFest DXB, with the goal of promoting this unique artform. Ambassador de Alba emphasized the importance of the event, saying, “Lucha Libre Fest is a fantastic opportunity to share the beauty of our culture with the world.”

Attendees can look forward to authentic Mexican cuisine from well-known brands like Jarritos, La Patrona, Maria Bonita, and La Tablita, as they enjoy the thrilling action of Lucha Libre matches. The festival’s grand finale, set for November 9 at Warehouse Four, will feature local and Mexican wrestlers in an electrifying showdown that promises to be a memorable night for wrestling fans in the UAE.
