KnightsEagles Show Heart To Claim First Win
It’s been a long old season for the KnightsEagles 1st XV, as they’ve faced some incredibly tough scorelines in their first season as a rebranded club.
The last time some members of this team tasted victory was back in March 2018 when they were known as the Dubai Eagles . Even then, that was a rare sight, as they battled to come to terms with their first season of Premiership rugby as a newly formed club.
Skip forward to February 2020 and not much has changed for the Knights Eagles, having gone through the whole of the 2018/29 season and 2019/20 without a win…
Until now that is. Friday was the day that’s supposed to be filled full of hearts. That day was St. Valentines Day.
KnightsEagles Earn First Win Against Dubai Tigers
That’s certainly one thing that you cannot take away from the KnightsEagles Rugby Club. They have a lot of heart. A tight-knit group, that have turned up, week in – week out and left everything out on the playing field. Today’s victory might not count for much in the league tables, but it should instill belief in the club that they are not here just to make up the numbers.
They are still a very new club in comparison to the others in the league, but Friday’s fixture, hosted by the Dubai Tigers was a thriller of a game that could have quite easily gone either way. Both sides had been neck and neck until the KnightsEagles broke away in the last 15 minutes of the game with a late Dom Williams try which sealed the match 37-22.
