Rocky Truter Gets England Call Up From Eddie Jones
Rocky Truter, Head Coach of the Dubai Hurricanes, has been invited by England boss Eddie Jones, to join him at their training camp in the UK.
Hurricanes Chairman Peter Clapp said:
“It’s a fantastic opportunity and well deserved: Rocky is a next-level Coach and I’m sure this won’t be the last time such an invitation comes his way.”
Truter was appointed Head Coach of the Academy at the Hurricanes in August 2021.
The former Sale Sharks U21’s (UK) and Falcons 7s (SA) player has previously worked with other top coaches as well as Eddie Jones (Suntory, Japan), John Mitchell (Golden Lions, South Africa), Joost van der Westhuizen (J9 Legends, Dubai 7s), Stephen Larkham (Brumbies, Australia), Mark McCall (Saracens England) to name a few.
England face the ‘Baabaas’ before setting off on their summer tour of Australia.
Not since 2016, have England headed Down Under for a three Test series and back then it represented a watershed moment for Jones as he took on his new appointment role as head coach of England.
Jones dismantled his predecessor Stuart Lancaster’s entire coaching team and replaced them with Steve Borthwick and Paul Gustard. It was during that memorable tour that England surged to a 3-0 series victory – their first ever – and will be aiming for a repeat this time with Test matches in Perth, Brisbane and Sydney.
